Sub #176: Dirty on Purpose

Week of December 4, 2006

SubterraneanIn this episode of Subterranean on MTV2, Jim Shearer interviewed Dirty on Purpose. Their album, Hallelujah Sirens, is out now.

Here's the playlist for episode #176:

Silversun Pickups - Lazy Eye
CSS - Alala
The Blood Brothers - Laser Life
Irving - Jen Nothing Matters To Me
Muse - Starlight
The Knife - We Share Our Mother's Health
Dirty On Purpose - No Radio
Islands - Don't Call Me Whitney, Bobby
The Thermals - A Pillar Of Salt

All new videos this week. I don't know exactly what it is about CSS that hooks me in, but it sure is hypnotic. Also, somebody at MTV needs to fix that Helio thing so we can actually hear what the person is saying. One more thing, Justin Timberlake leading off the Muse video? Hilarious. At first I didn't know what was going on.

you might like Controller.Controller
it probably would have seemed weird to cut out Justin's introduction so perhaps that is why they kept it during the Muse video

hah, I was also confused when I first saw Justin Timberlake.
I wonder what additional videos will be up for the online episode.

Great show. All-new, like I like.

Good to watch more videos from bands that have already aired on the show.

I know Robert Smith is part of The Cure, but I would like to also see a video from the The Cult.

Muse, what can I say. I called CD Warehouse they had 4 demos last time I was in there they were all sold. I should have bought one. Nice video cool lasers.

Yes CSS hum, who is this dude that is running the whole show. I will bet he is a genius. I would like to see him with a band like Muse or someone like High and Mighty. See what he could do. The new video was cool. That female lead singer is cool.

Blood Brothers are awesome. I wish I could understand their vocals better. I blame it on the laser rain.

The Knife is cool they remind me of The Go Team.

Jose Gonzales plays an acoutic cover of "Heartbeats" by the Knife. Too bad it wasn't the single on the show.
